MAPLE GROVE, Minn., September 7, 2018 /PRNewswire — GUARDIAN RFID, the global leader in inmate management and tracking systems, today announce Caribou Co. Sheriff's Office Co. has chosen GUARDIAN RFID for its 49-bed detention center.

Caribou Co. Detention Center will be digitally transforming its inmate management objectives with the Command & Control platform from GUARDIAN RFID, automating its inmate tracking, security rounds, including face-to-face cell checks on high-risk and administrative segregation offenders, and other activity logging in real-time.

One of the primary challenges facing Caribou Co. Sheriff's Office is the dependence of manual and paper-based systems used to manage inmate records. Caribou Co. Jail also uses the PIPE and Guard1 from TimeKeeping Systems, a standalone guard tour solution, to log security checks. Everything from inmate movements to security checks are logged in one of several disparate systems. Cell checks on high-risk offendersand inmate activities are logged on paper.

To gain operational dominance and better insight into their inmate management, Caribou Co. Jail is eliminating their standalone guard tour system and paper processes to centralize their inmate management objectives while integrating with their enterprise software from Spillman.

Inmates will also be outfitted with RFID wristbands for electronic and visual identification, which will assist correctional officers and deputies streamline a wide range of interactions from court transports and pill calls to recreation time.

Deploying the Weapon of Mass Data Collection

Caribou Co. team members are deploying SPARTAN, the ultra-rugged Android from GUARDIAN RFID, running Mobile Command software. The jail is also deploying hardened RFID tags strategically located throughout their facility to automate a wide range of data collection and reporting, including security checks and cell checks, headcounts, meal and recreation offerings, and a wide-range of other inmate activity logging at the point of responsibility.

Android-based Mobile Command™ software from GUARDIAN RFID supports corrections professionals to collect, view, and share intelligence in real-time, including high-resolution imaging for defensibility and compliance.

Command & Control

According to Chief Deputy Matt Galloway, the combination of rugged Android mobility, superior reporting, and integration support with Spillman influenced the decision to upgrade to GUARDIAN RFID.

Present reporting processes either lack useful data or are time consuming for staff to generate and understand.

Corrections staff at every level can monitor electronic logs with real-time, Cloud-based activity feeds using tablets, smartphones, and other Internet-connected devices.

The GUARDIAN RFID Cloud, OnDemand, will support Caribou Co. Jail's objective of gaining real-time situational awareness, monitor security round performance, and access activity streams and reporting tools from anywhere, while working with its jail management system from Spillman.
