MAPLE GROVE, Minn., Aug. 9, 2018 /PRNewswire
—GUARDIAN RFID, the global leader in inmate management and tracking systems, today announce Hopkins County Sheriff's Office in Sulphur Springs, Texas, has deployed GUARDIAN RFID for its 120-bed detention center.

Located 80 miles east of Dallas, Hopkins Co. Jail is digitally transforming its inmate management objectives with the Command & Control platform to automate its electronic monitoring of high-risk offenders during cell checks, now mandated by the Sandra Bland Act.

Hopkins Co. Jail presently uses a combination of manual systems, including paper-based logs, alongside its jail management system from NET Data. Jail staff is leveraging GUARDIAN RFID, integrating with NET Data, share inmate demographics, housing assignments, mugshots, and more.

Deploying the Weapon of Mass Data Collection

Staff at the Hopkins Co. Jail are using SPARTAN, the ultra-rugged Android from GUARDIAN RFID, running Mobile Command software. The jail has mounted hardened RFID tags strategically located throughout their facility to automate a wide range of data collection and reporting, including security checks and cell checks, headcounts, meal and recreation offerings, and a wide-range of other inmate activity logging at the point of responsibility.

Hopkins Co. Jail is also tagging inmates with RFID wristbands for inmate tracking and activity logging.

Command & Control

Kenneth Dean, Jail Administrator, chose GUARDIAN RFID to centralize its inmate identification, security rounds, and activity logging into one powerful, centralized platform to gain operational dominance, while supporting integration with systems that are critical to jail staff.

Mobile Command, the Android-based application by GUARDIAN RFID, helps corrections professionals execute a wide range of objectives at the point of responsibility, including inmate-specific cell checks and other evidence-gathering tools to demonstrate compliance and maximize defensibility. Jails throughout Texas are adopting GUARDIAN RFID to support their electronic monitoring requirements, as mandated by the Sandra Bland Act, a law that went into effect in 2017, requiring electronic monitoring on high-risk offenders.

The GUARDIAN RFID Cloud, OnDemand, will also help Hopkins Co. gain real-time situational awareness, monitor security round performance, and access activity streams and reporting tools from anywhere, while working with its jail management system from NET Data.
