Livingston Co. Sheriff's Office chooses GUARDIAN RFID to automate inmate tracking and inmate management with RFID
MAPLE GROVE, Minn., May 31, 2018 /PRNewswire—GUARDIAN RFID, the global leader in inmate management and tracking systems, today announces the Livingston County Sheriff's Office (Howell, Michigan) has chosen to deploy with GUARDIAN RFID.
Livingston Co. Jail operates its detention facility with a rated capacity of 411 inmates. Livingston Co. Jail deputies will be using GUARDIAN RFID to maximize productivity, increase compliance efficiency with Michigan Jail Standards, and eliminate its manual systems by deploying:
- SPARTAN, the ultra-rugged Android scanner from GUARDIAN RFID running Mobile Command software
- Hardened RFID tags strategically deployed throughout the facility to automate a wide range of data collection and reporting, including security checks and cell checks, headcounts, inmate programs attendance, and other inmate activity logging.
- Inmates will also be tagged with RFID Wristbands to automate inmate tracking, recreation offerings, court transports, and programs attendance.
Prior to GUARDIAN RFID, Livingston Co. Sheriff's Office relied extensively on manual, paper-based systems alongside their jail management system from Superion. Lt. Jeff LeVeque, Jail Administrator, chose GUARDIAN RFID because of the durability, versatility, and performance advantages of SPARTAN, the ultra-rugged Android device from GUARDIAN RFID. LeVeque compared GUARDIAN RFID to CorreTrak, an iPod/QR code solution from Dynamic Imaging Systems, Inc., but also found GUARDIAN RFID to offer far deeper platform configurability to build custom modules for Mobile Command while helping staff achieve real-time operational performance insight at all levels.
