Northern Minnesota jail to choose GUARDIAN RFID to automate security checks and guard tour objectives to increase compliance efficiency with MN Jail Standards.
MAPLE GROVE, Minn., May 4, 2018 /PRNewswire—GUARDIAN RFID, the global leader in inmate management and tracking systems, today announce the Carlton County Sheriff's Office (Carlton, Minnesota) has chosen to deploy with GUARDIAN RFID.
Carlton Co. Jail operates its detention facility with a rated capacity of 40 inmates. Carlton Co. Jail deputies will be using GUARDIAN RFID to maximize productivity, increase compliance efficiency with Minnesota Jail Standards, and eliminate its manual systems by deploying:
- SPARTAN, the ultra-rugged Android scanner from GUARDIAN RFID running Mobile Command software
- Hardened RFID tags strategically deployed throughout the facility to automate a wide range of data collection and reporting, including security checks and cell checks, headcounts, inmate programs attendance, and other inmate activity logging.
- Inmates will also be tagged with RFID Wristbands to automate inmate tracking, recreation offerings, court transports, and programs attendance.
Prior to GUARDIAN RFID, Carlton Co. Sheriff's Office relied extensively on manual, paper-based systems alongside their jail management system from Zuercher Technologies. According to Paul Coughlin, Jail Administrator, one of the primary challenges with current systems is the ability to track security round completion with accuracy. Minnesota Jail Standards requires well-being checks to be completed every 30 minutes. Coughlin will be using Compliance Monitor, a Cloud-based monitoring tool, from GUARDIAN RFID to visually display real-time performance of cell checks and security checks and generate system notifications if security rounds are late.
Additionally, Carlton Co. is deploying GUARDIAN RFID with a two-way interface with its jail management system from Sioux Falls-based Zuercher Technologies, a Certified Integration Partner with GUARDIAN RFID.
Carlton Co. Command Staff chose GUARDIAN RFID for its powerful configurability, ease of use, and deep integration with its enterprise software with Zuercher Technologies.
Carlton Co. Sheriff's Office is the sixth Minnesota county to choose GUARDIAN RFID in the last 10 months. This includes Sherburne Co. Sheriffs's Office, which operates the largest pre-trial adult detention facility in the state, as well as Meeker Co. Sheriff's Office, Kandiyhoi Co. Sheriff's Office, Cass Co. Sheriff's Office, and most recently, Wright Co. Sheriff's Office.
