Amarillo jail unifies its inmate management objectives with RFID + Cloud + Mobile.

MAPLE GROVE, Minn., April 16, 2018 /PRNewswire—GUARDIAN RFID, the global leader in inmate management and tracking systems, today announced Potter Co. Sheriff’s Office in Amarillo, Texas, has deployed GUARDIAN RFID in its detention facility with an average daily population of 538 inmates.

The Potter Co. Jail has deployed SPARTAN, the ultra-rugged Android from GUARDIAN RFID running Mobile Command software, including RFID Wristbands and hardened RFID tags strategically deployed throughout the facility to automate a wide range of data collection and reporting needs mandated by Texas Jail Standards, and eliminate its longstanding manual and paper-based logging.

GUARDIAN RFID is enabling Potter Co. detention staff to automate cell checks and behavioral observations with real-time monitoring, as well as automating inmate movements, programs attendance, court transports, and more.

With the deployment of GUARDIAN RFID, Potter Co. Jail has now migrated from Guard1, a guard tour system from TimeKeeping Systems. GUARDIAN RFID has also interfaced with Potter Co.’s jail management system, Spillman Flex, to share inmate demographics, housing assignments, keep separates, mugshots, and more, allowing detention staff to capture inmate specific data while extending additional value to their existing enterprise software.

The previous siloed approach to logging information lacked automation, consistency, and internal staff communication and collaboration.

The GUARDIAN RFID Cloud, OnDemand, is helping staff gain real-time situational awareness, monitor security round and positive ID headcount performance, and access activity streams and reporting tools from anywhere, while working with Spillman Flex.
