MAPLE GROVE, Minn., October 26, 2022 —Ashe County Sheriff's Office, North Carolina, has partnered with GUARDIAN RFID to roll out its inmate management system that automatically captures a wide range of inmate activities, behavioral observations, inmate movements, court transports, and positive ID headcounts.
GUARDIAN RFID is replacing the facility’s long-standing paper-based logs and manual forms. The facility’s guard tour system, known as the PIPE, will be eliminated by an array of GUARDIAN RFID’s ultra-rugged Android devices, called SPARTAN, to manage, monitor, and track inmate activities and movements, not to mention inmate medication objectives.
Prior to discovering GUARDIAN RIFD, Ashe County Sheriff's Office searched for a more effective solution to documenting medical information and accessing medical reports. Having historically documented inmate medication information on paper and dry-erase boards, Ashe County Sheriff's Office staff is excited to now be able to utilize GUARDIAN RFID’s digital medical database, Medication Manager, to streamline processes. Ashe County staff will have quick and easy access to medication administration records which will help reduce inmate complaints and future litigation while increasing compliance efficiency and officer accountability. The Medication Manager system will help jail staff collect data faster and more comprehensively than its present manual tools as it’s a platform that unifies the execution of their inmate medical objectives, using RFID, the Cloud, and mobile to automate actionable workflows.
