MAPLE GROVE, Minn., June 29, 2022 — GUARDIAN RFID, a global leader in inmate management and tracking systems, announces the Tohono O’odham Nation Corrections (Arizona) has selected GUARDIAN RFID to manage, monitor, and track its inmate population.
Being a remote Indigenous Jail in Arizona, Tohono O’odham Nation is still in the “paper age” and looks forward to implementing GUARDIAN RFID to help digitally transform the facility. By automating its inmate tracking and security rounds including face-to-face cell checks, Tohono O’odham Nation will be able to log activities and streamline compliance in real time.
Deploying the Weapon of Mass Data Collection
Before learning about GUARDIAN RFID, Tohono O’odham Nation had little insight into how well they were completing checks and making sure they were in compliance with federal confinement standards. Their processes often spent a significant amount of time producing paperwork for federal auditors and solving grievances. The officers were oftentimes completing the work but are not accurately logging it, leading to zero audit ability and way to verify.
GUARDIAN RFID will deploy SPARTAN, an ultra-rugged Android device to capture a wide range of inmate activities, behavioral observations, inmate movements, program attendance, and court transports. Mobile Command will also enable staff to capture image and video assets during cell checks uploaded to OnDemand, the GUARDIAN RFID Cloud. OnDemand will allow staff to gain real-time situational awareness and positive ID headcount performance.
Tohono O’odham Nation looks forward to utilizing GUARDIAN RFID’s platform that unifies the execution of their inmate management objectives and state audit preparation using RFID, the Cloud, and mobile to automate actionable, security-critical workflows. Correctional officers will gain real-time situational awareness, monitor security round performance, and access activity streams and reporting tools.
