MAPLE GROVE, Minn., May 25, 2022 —GUARDIAN RFID, the global leader in inmate management and tracking systems, today announced that Effingham County Sheriff’s Office in Effingham, Illinois—has selected GUARDIAN RFID to manage, monitor, and track its prison inmate population.
Before discovering GUARDIAN RFID, Effingham Co. used an iButton-based guard tour solution known as the PIPE to manage security rounds, inmate movements, and daily activity logging. This manual approach to logging information lacked internal staff collaboration and operational awareness. The time spent searching for verification left Effingham Co. staff realizing the need for a platform that unifies the execution of their inmate management objectives. After learning about GUARDIAN RFID, Effingham Co. was confident it was a perfect fit to utilize RFID, the Cloud, and mobile solutions to automate their facility’s actionable security-critical workflows.
Effingham Co. will deploy GUARDIAN RFID’s SPARTAN, an ultra-rugged Android device that runs Mobile Command software, along with hardened RFID tags to capture a wide range of inmate activities, behavioral observations, inmate movements, program attendance, and court transports. Mobile Command will also enable staff to capture image and video assets during cell checks uploaded to OnDemand, the GUARDIAN RFID Cloud. OnDemand will allow staff to gain real-time situational awareness.
