MAPLE GROVE, Minn., February 4, 2022 — GUARDIAN RFID, a global leader in inmate management and tracking systems, announces the Woodward County Sheriff’s Office (Woodward, Oklahoma) has selected GUARDIAN RFID to manage, monitor, and track its inmate population. Located over 150 miles northwest of Oklahoma City, Woodward County Sheriff’s Office looks forward to digitally transforming its inmate management objectives with the Command & Control platform to automate its inmate tracking, and security rounds including face-to-face cell checks, and other activity logging in real-time to streamline compliance.

Deploying the Weapon of Mass Data Collection

Prior to selecting GUARDIAN RFID, Woodward County Sheriff’s Office used paper logs and their jail management system, ODIS, to manage security rounds, inmate movements, and daily activity logging. This inefficient approach to logging information lacked internal staff collaboration and operational awareness. Woodward County Sheriff’s Office realized the need for a platform that unifies the execution of their inmate management objectives and state audit preparation using RFID, the Cloud, and mobile to automate actionable, security-critical workflows.

Searching for a defensible and accurate software system, Sheriff Kevin Mitchell connected with the staff at Canadian County Jail and learned about GUARDIAN RFID and selected it as Woodward Co.’s new RFID inmate tracking system. Woodward Co. team members will use GUARDIAN RFID’s Mobile Command running on SPARTAN, an ultra-rugged Android, along with hardened RFID tags to capture a wide range of inmate activities, behavioral observations, inmate movements, program attendance, and court transports. Mobile Command will also enable staff to capture image and video assets during cell checks as well as a signature for critical supplies, which is then uploaded to OnDemand, the GUARDIAN RFID Cloud. OnDemand will allow staff to gain real-time situational awareness and positive ID headcount performance.
