MAPLE GROVE, Minn., August 9, 2021 —GUARDIAN RFID, the global leader in inmate management and tracking systems, today announced that the Wheeler County Sheriff’s Office, Texas, will go live with GUARDIAN RFID to manage, monitor, and track its inmate population.
Prior to discovering GUARDIAN RFID, Wheeler County Sheriff’s Office used Guard1, an iButton-based guard tour solution known as the PIPE, to manage security rounds, inmate movements, and daily activity logging. Staff noticed it didn’t give them the functionality they were expecting as this manual, siloed approach to logging information lacked internal staff collaboration and operational awareness. However, after Wheeler Co. started searching for a more efficient way to document and track officer rounds and inmate activities, they learned about GUARDIAN RFID and confirmed they will be implementing its technology in order to execute their inmate management objectives.
Wheeler Co. staff will soon be training on how to use Mobile Command running on SPARTAN, an ultra-rugged Android from GUARDIAN RFID, along with RFID Wristbands, and hardened RFID tags to capture a wide range of inmate activities, behavioral observations, inmate movements, programs attendance, and court transports. Mobile Command will also enable staff to capture image and video assets during cell checks uploaded to OnDemand, the GUARDIAN RFID Cloud. OnDemand will allow staff to gain real-time situational awareness, and monitor security round and positive ID headcount performance.
