MAPLE GROVE, Minn., June 9, 2020—GUARDIAN RFID, the global leader in inmate management and tracking systems, today announced that the Gage County Sheriff’s Office in rural Beatrice, Nebraska has confirmed a closing contract with GUARDIAN RFID to manage, monitor, and track its inmate population.
Before discovering GUARDIAN RFID, Gage County performed its logging capabilities with Guard1, an iButton-based guard tour solution that included data collectors known as the PIPE, and its Offender Management System (OMS) to manage security rounds, inmate movements, and daily activity logging. Gage County correctional staff experience technology barriers as their system did not document face-to-face observations or was frequently faulty. This manual, siloed approach to logging information lacked internal staff collaboration and operational awareness. Gage County realized the need for a platform that unifies the execution of their inmate management objectives, using RFID, the Cloud, and mobile to automate actionable security-critical workflows.
Needing a bulletproof solution for rounds tracking and inmate interactions, Gage Co. staff will use Mobile Command running on SPARTAN, an ultra-rugged Android from GUARDIAN RFID, along with RFID Wristbands, hardened RFID tags, and ForceField fixed RFID readers to capture a wide range of inmate activities, behavioral observations, inmate movements, programs attendance, and court transports. Mobile Command will also enable staff to capture image and video assets during cell checks as well as a signature for critical supplies, which is then uploaded to OnDemand, the GUARDIAN RFID Cloud. OnDemand will allow staff to gain real-time situational awareness and positive ID headcount performance.
