Eastern Pennsylvania jail unifies its inmate management objectives with RFID + Cloud + Mobile.
MAPLE GROVE, Minn., April 23, 2018 /PRNewswire—GUARDIAN RFID, the global leader in inmate management and tracking systems, today announced Pike Co. Correctional Facility in Lords Valley, Pennsylvania, has chosen GUARDIAN RFID for its detention facility.
Located 80 miles outside New York City, Pike Co. Correctional Facility is a 375-bed medium-security facility that chose GUARDIAN RFID to maximize staff productivity, increase compliance efficiency with Pennsylvania Jail Standards, and eliminate its manual systems.
Pike Co. Corrections will be deploying SPARTAN, the ultra-rugged Android from GUARDIAN RFID running Mobile Command software, including hardened RFID tags strategically deployed throughout the facility to automate a wide range of data collection and reporting, including security checks and cell checks, headcounts, inmate programs attendance, and other inmate activity logging.
Prior to GUARDIAN RFID, Pike Co. Corrections used a wide range of paper logging alongside their Offender Management System from Global Tel-Link (GTL.) Warden Craig Lowe and Assistant Warden, Jon Romance, evaluated solutions that would increase efficiency, eliminate manual systems, and build better staff accountability.
Pike Co. leadership chose GUARDIAN RFID for its powerful configurability, ease of use, and its integration with its enterprise software with GTL. They also compared GUARDIAN RFID to a QR-code based solution running on iPods. Pike Co. determined GUARDIAN RFID was a stronger choice because of its speed, ease of customizability, high-capacity, hot swappable batteries (not supported by iOS), and the depth of the GUARDIAN RFID feature set.
The GUARDIAN RFID Cloud, OnDemand, will also help Pike Co. gain real-time situational awareness, monitor security round performance, and access activity streams and reporting tools from anywhere, while working with their Offender Management System with GTL.
The Pike Co. deployment of GUARDIAN RFID was funded by partnership between GUARDIAN RFID and the Pennsylvania Counties Risk Pool (PCoRP).
