Indian River Co. Sheriff's Office to Digitally Transform its 500-Bed Jail with GUARDIAN RFID
MAPLE GROVE, Minn., Aug. 6, 2018 /PRNewswire—GUARDIAN RFID, the global leader in inmate management and tracking systems, today announce Indian River County Sheriff's Office in Vero Beach, Florida, a nationally accredited law enforcement agency, has chosen GUARDIAN RFID for its 500-bed detention center.
Located 80 miles north of West Palm Beach, Indian River Co. Jail is digitally transforming its inmate management objectives with GUARDIAN RFID and its Command & Control platform at the heart of its mission to gain operational dominance.
Innovation through Integration
The Indian River Co. Jail presently uses a combination of manual systems, including paper-based logs, alongside its jail management system from New World Systems (now Tyler Technologies). Indian River Co. Jail staff will leverage GUARDIAN RFID, integrating with New World Systems, to create new value and capabilities with its existing Corrections Management software.
GUARDIAN RFID is also deploying integrated RFID readers with Orem, Utah-based CorEMR, an electronic medical records system, at the Indian River Co. Jail. The CorEMR/GUARDIAN RFID integration will enable providers and nursing staff to quickly and accurately identify the right inmate's electronic chart by scanning their RFID wristband via readers connected to laptops running CorEMR. This integration will accelerate medical staff performance and increase medication administration accuracy.
Command & Control
Indian River Co. Jail, led by Major Selby Strickland and Captain Adam Bailey, chose GUARDIAN RFID to centralize its inmate identification, security rounds, and activity logging into one powerful, centralized platform to gain operational dominance, while supporting integration with systems that are critical to jail staff.
Android + RFID to Maximize Staff Performance
Indian River Co. Sheriff's Office will be deploying SPARTAN, the ultra-rugged Android from GUARDIAN RFID running Mobile Command software. The jail will be deploying hardened RFID tags strategically located throughout their facility to automate a wide range of data collection and reporting, including security checks and cell checks, headcounts, meal and recreation offerings, and a wide-range of other inmate activity logging at the point of responsibility.
Indian River Co. inmates will also be outfitted with RFID Wristbands for inmate tracking, which includes programs attendance, court transports, and medical visits.
The GUARDIAN RFID Cloud, OnDemand, will also help Indian River Co. gain real-time situational awareness, monitor security round performance, and access activity streams and reporting tools from anywhere, while working with its Corrections Management software from New World System
