Faulkner Co. Detention Center Deploys RFID + Android for Inmate Tracking


MAPLE GROVE, Minn., July 17, 2018 /PRNewswire—GUARDIAN RFID, the global leader in inmate management and tracking systems, today announce Faulkner County Sheriff's Office in Conway, Arkansas, has deployed GUARDIAN RFID for its detention center.

Located 40 miles outside Little Rock, Faulkner Co. Detention Center holds up to 462 inmates. Its 89-member Corrections staff will use the GUARDIAN RFID Command and Control platform to maximize staff productivity, increase compliance efficiency with Arkansas Jail Standards, and eliminate its manual systems.

Improving Compliance with Jail Standards

Faulkner Co. Jail is currently relying on manual systems, including paper logs, along with their jail management system, SOMS from M&M Micro, Inc. A recent lawsuit brought by an inmate pertaining to accusations of a lack of meal offerings spurred command staff to pursue a long-needed digital transformation to increase staff efficiency and their legal defensibility.

Android + RFID to Maximize Staff Performance

Staff members are using SPARTAN, the ultra-rugged Android from GUARDIAN RFID running Mobile Command software, including hardened RFID tags strategically deployed throughout the facility to automate a wide range of data collection and reporting, including security checks and cell checks, headcounts, meal and recreation offerings, and a wide-range of other inmate activity logging at the point of responsibility.

Faulkner Co. Detention Center inmates are now outfitted with RFID Wristbands for inmate tracking, which includes programs attendance, court transports, and medical visits.

Mobile Command software enables corrections professionals to collect a wide range of data and digital assets, from cell checks to disciplinary reports, as well as images, which are securely synced to the GUARDIAN RFID Cloud from anytime, anywhere reporting.

Faulkner Co. Command Staff chose GUARDIAN RFID for its powerful configurability, ease of use, and its integration with SOMS.

The GUARDIAN RFID Cloud, OnDemand, will also help Faulkner Co. gain real-time situational awareness, monitor security round performance, and access activity streams and reporting tools from anywhere, while working with their JMS.
