MAPLE GROVE, Minn., April 20, 2022 — GUARDIAN RFID, a global leader in inmate management and tracking systems, announces the Prince George’s County Corrections Department (Maryland) has selected GUARDIAN RFID to manage, monitor, and track its inmate population.
Over an average daily population of 800 inmates, Prince George’s County Corrections Department looks forward to digitally transforming its inmate management objectives with the Command & Control platform to automate its inmate tracking, and security rounds including face-to-face cell checks, and other activity logging in real-time to streamline compliance.
Deploying the Weapon of Mass Data Collection
Prior to selecting GUARDIAN RFID, Prince George’s Co. used paper logs to manage security rounds, inmate movements, and daily activity logging. This time-consuming approach to logging information lacked internal staff collaboration and operational awareness. Prince George’s Co. realized the need for a platform that unifies the execution of their inmate management objectives and state audit preparation using RFID, the Cloud, and mobile to automate actionable, security-critical workflows.
GUARDIAN RFID will implement the use of Mobile Command running on SPARTAN, an ultra-rugged Android, inside of Prince George’s County Corrections Department. The GUARDIAN RFID Cloud, OnDemand, will help the correctional officers gain real-time situational awareness, monitor security round performance, and access activity streams and reporting tools from anywhere, while working with its jail management system.
