Description

MAPLE GROVE, Minn., April 11, 2022 —GUARDIAN RFID, the global leader in inmate management and tracking systems, today announced that Mills County Sheriff’s Office in Goldthwaite, Texas—has selected GUARDIAN RFID for its county jail to manage, monitor, and track its inmate population.

Prior to discovering GUARDIAN RFID, Mills Co. staff used Guard1 technology. This iButton-based guard tour solution included data collectors known as the PIPE to manage security rounds, inmate movements, and daily activity logging. This data-limited approach to logging information lacked internal staff collaboration and operational awareness, leading Mills Co. staff to look for an upgrade. After searching for a platform that unifies the execution of their inmate management objectives, Mills Co. realized GUARDIAN RFID was the perfect fit to help automate their actionable security-critical workflows.

Mills Co. will deploy GUARDIAN RFID’s SPARTAN, an ultra-rugged Android device, that runs Mobile Command software along with hardened RFID tags to capture a wide range of inmate activities, behavioral observations, inmate movements, program attendance, and court transports. Mobile Command will also enable staff to capture image and video assets during cell checks uploaded to OnDemand, the GUARDIAN RFID Cloud. OnDemand will allow staff to gain real-time situational awareness and monitor security rounds. Mills Co. correctional staff looks forward to using GUARDIAN RFID as an upgraded solution to their activity logging, especially regarding recreation and medication, resulting in decreased liability risks.
