MAPLE GROVE, Minn., February 9, 2022 — GUARDIAN RFID, a global leader in inmate management and tracking systems, announces the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office (Bay Springs, Mississippi) will deploy GUARDIAN RFID in its facility in the coming months to automate its inmate tracking, and security rounds including face-to-face cell checks, and other activity logging in real-time to streamline compliance.
With staff concerned about rounds not being completed accurately and the lack of documentation surrounding medication passes, the Sheriff realized the increased risk of liability claims. GUARDIAN RFID will replace Jasper Co.’s long-standing practice of logging rounds, headcounts, incidents, and movement on paper and its internal, homegrown jail management system.
Jasper Co.’s team members will use Mobile Command running on SPARTAN, an ultra-rugged Android from GUARDIAN RFID, along with hardened RFID tags to capture a wide range of inmate activities, behavioral observations, inmate movements, program attendance, and court transports. Mobile Command will also enable staff to capture image and video assets during cell checks as well as a signature for critical supplies, which is then uploaded to OnDemand, the GUARDIAN RFID Cloud. OnDemand will allow staff to gain real-time situational awareness, facility-wide inmate identification, tracking, and management capabilities to strategically automate a wide range of data collection and reporting logged at the point of responsibility.
