MAPLE GROVE, Minn., October 20, 2021 —Chambers County Sheriff’s Office (Anahuac, Texas) will partner with GUARDIAN RFID to roll out its inmate management system that automatically captures a wide range of inmate activities, behavioral observations, inmate movements, court transports, and positive ID headcounts.
GUARDIAN RFID will replace the facility’s long-standing guard tour system, the PIPE, as it carried a reputation for creating more work for correctional officers than needed. Balancing manual logs and video evidence that didn’t align with what their guard tour system documented led to compliance discrepancies with jail standards. This method of tracking took time away from the staff as they were focusing on inmate supervisors and responding to grievances.
Chambers Co. staff looks forward to streamlining an array of GUARDIAN hardened RFID tags, RFID Wristbands, and ultra-rugged Android devices called SPARTAN, to manage, monitor, and track inmates using Mobile Command, corrections' most widely deployed mobile application. The GUARDIAN RFID system will help jail staff collect data faster and more comprehensively than its present manual tools including inmate meal offerings, program attendance, and medication administration records. Accurately tracking this detailed information which will help reduce inmate complaints and future litigation, while increasing compliance efficiency with Texas jail standards. GUARDIAN RFID will also enable staff to share and communicate information faster than ever, thanks to its Cloud-based platform, OnDemand, which interfaces with the county’s current jail management system.
