MAPLE GROVE, Minn., January 20, 2021 —GUARDIAN RFID, the global leader in inmate management and tracking systems, today announced that Leon County Sheriff’s Office in Tallahassee, Florida—has selected GUARDIAN RFID for its county jail to manage, monitor, and track its inmate population.

Leon County Jail has an average daily population of 1000+ inmates. Prior to discovering GUARDIAN RFID, Leon County used a homegrown JMS and paper logs to manage security rounds, inmate movements, and daily activity logging. This manual approach to logging information lacked internal staff collaboration and operational awareness. Leon County noticed the extensive communication challenges and poor measurable outcomes and realized the need for a stronger, more comprehensible technology platform.

With GUARDIAN RFID’s ability to execute inmate management objectives and automate actionable, security-critical workflows, Leon Co. will deploy SPARTAN, an ultra-rugged Android device that runs Mobile Command software to capture a wide range of inmate activities, behavioral observations, inmate movements, programs attendance, and court transports. Mobile Command will also enable staff to capture the image and video assets during cell checks uploaded to OnDemand, the GUARDIAN RFID Cloud. OnDemand will allow staff to gain real-time situational awareness and monitor security rounds and positive ID headcount performance.
