MAPLE GROVE, Minn., Aug. 31, 2020 —GUARDIAN RFID, the global leader in inmate management and tracking systems, today announced that Santa Maria Hostel, Houston, Texas—has selected GUARDIAN RFID for its facility to manage and monitor its resident population, including TDCJ inmates.

Santa Maria Hostel is primarily a women's shelter but has pregnant TDCJ inmates who are in custody under the supervision of the Santa Maria Hostel staff. Given the staff are responsible for doing checks on the inmates for TDCJ inspection and as well as logging meals for all residents, Santa Maria Hostel looks forward to using GUARDIAN RFID to unify the execution of their inmate and resident management objectives. Tasks such as room checks, incident reporting, distribution of medications, as well as check-ins and check-outs, will all be automated into actionable, security-critical workflows.

Staff will deploy SPARTAN, an ultra-rugged Android device from GUARDIAN RFID, which runs Mobile Command software, along with RFID Wristbands and hardened RFID tags to capture a wide range of inmate and resident activities, behavioral observations, movements, program attendance, and transports. Mobile Command will also enable staff to capture image and video assets during cell checks uploaded to OnDemand, the GUARDIAN RFID Cloud. OnDemand will allow staff to gain real-time situational awareness.
