MAPLE GROVE, Minn., June 9, 2020 —GUARDIAN RFID, the global leader in inmate management and tracking systems, today announced that Roosevelt County Detention Center in Portales, New Mexico—has selected GUARDIAN RFID for its county jail to manage, monitor, and track its inmate population.

Roosevelt County Detention Center has an average daily population of nearly 100 inmates. Before discovering GUARDIAN RFID, Roosevelt Co. realized it needed a tech upgrade, specifically for its new out-of-cell compliance legislation. Jail administrator, Justin Porter, serves as the president of New Mexico Counties State Accreditation Board and is working towards modernizing the facility by order of magnitude.

Correctional staff will be using the SPARTAN, an ultra-rugged Android device from GUARDIAN RFID, which runs Mobile Command software, along with RFID Wristbands and hardened RFID tags to capture a wide range of inmate activities, behavioral observations, inmate movements, programs attendance, and court transports. Mobile Command will also enable staff to capture image and video assets during cell checks uploaded to OnDemand, the GUARDIAN RFID Cloud. OnDemand will allow staff to gain real-time situational awareness and monitor security rounds performance.

From updating cameras throughout the facilities to providing staff with new uniforms, handcuffs, and pepper spray, in addition to the new digital transformation with GUARDIAN RFID technology, the upgrades made will help overall facility operations tenfold.
