MAPLE GROVE, Minn., September 22, 2022—Wood County Sheriff's Office in Quitman, Texas will partner with GUARDIAN RFID to roll out its inmate management system that automatically captures a wide range of inmate activities, behavioral observations, inmate movements, court transports, and positive ID headcounts that works with the county’s existing jail management system.

GUARDIAN RFID will replace the jail’s long-standing, manual paper-based logging practices. The pen-and-paper method will be eliminated by an array of GUARDIAN RFID’s hardened RFID tags, RFID Wristbands, and ultra-rugged Android devices called SPARTAN, to manage, monitor, and track inmates.

Wood Co. realized that the information that the staff captured with pen and paper was extremely difficult and time-consuming to audit. The GUARDIAN RFID system will help jail staff collect data faster and more comprehensively than its present manual tools. This includes inmate meal offerings, program attendance, and medication administration records which will help reduce inmate complaints and future litigation while increasing compliance efficiency with Texas jail standards. GUARDIAN RFID will also enable staff to share and communicate information faster than ever, thanks to its Cloud-based platform, OnDemand, which interfaces with the county’s current jail management system, Tyler Odyssey. Captain Dahlman and his team look forward to bringing in more-advanced technology that will make staff operations more efficient and automate actionable, security-critical workflows.
