MAPLE GROVE, Minn., August 28, 2022 —GUARDIAN RFID, the global leader in inmate management and tracking systems, today announced that the Lewis & Clark County Detention Center in Helena, Montana will go live with GUARDIAN RFID to manage, monitor, and track its 150+ inmate population.

Prior to discovering GUARDIAN RFID, Lewis & Clark County Detention Center staff used paper logs and an iButton-based guard tour solution, known as the PIPE, to manage security rounds, inmate movements, and daily activity logging. This manual, siloed approach to logging information lacked internal staff collaboration and operational awareness. After failing to maintain proper documentation which resulted in increased liability, Lewis & Clark Co. realized the need for a platform that unifies the execution of their inmate management objectives, using RFID, the Cloud, and mobile to automate actionable, security-critical workflows.

Lewis & Clark Co. staff will be using SPARTAN, an ultra-rugged Android from GUARDIAN RFID,  along with RFID Wristbands and hardened RFID tags to capture a wide range of inmate activities, behavioral observations, inmate movements, programs attendance, and court transports. This technology will enable staff to capture image and video assets during cell checks uploaded to OnDemand, the GUARDIAN RFID Cloud. OnDemand will allow staff to gain real-time situational awareness while interfacing with their Offender Management System from GTL.
