Crawford Co. Sheriff to Manage, Monitor, and Track Inmates with RFID
MAPLE GROVE, Minn., July 31, 2018 /PRNewswire—GUARDIAN RFID, the global leader in inmate management and tracking systems, today announce Crawford County Sheriff's Office in Robinson, Illinois, has deployed GUARDIAN RFID for its detention center.
Located two hours outside Indianapolis, Crawford Co. Jail holds up to 43 inmates. Crawford Co. staff will use the GUARDIAN RFID Command and Control platform to maximize staff productivity, increase compliance efficiency with Illinois Jail Standards, and eliminate its manual systems.
Improving Compliance with PREA and Jail Standards
Crawford Co. Jail is currently relying on manual systems, including paper logs, along with their jail management system, SOMS from M&M Micro, Inc. Led by Jail Administrator Fred Chinn, a certified PREA examiner, Chinn chose GUARDIAN RFID for its customizability for automating data collection and reporting needs mandated by Illinois Jail Standards, including security rounds and inmate-specific cell checks on high-risk offenders. Chinn also GUARDIAN RFID because he could tailor GUARDIAN RFID to digitize his PREA compliance objectives, as well as its existing integration with SOMS, Crawford County's jail management system from M&M Micro, Inc.
Android + RFID to Maximize Staff Performance
Staff members are using SPARTAN, the ultra-rugged Android from GUARDIAN RFID running Mobile Command software, including hardened RFID tags strategically deployed throughout the facility to automate a wide range of data collection and reporting, including security checks and cell checks, headcounts, meal and recreation offerings, and a wide-range of other inmate activity logging at the point of responsibility.
Crawford Co. Jail inmates are now outfitted with RFID Wristbands for inmate tracking, which includes programs attendance, court transports, and medical visits.
The GUARDIAN RFID Cloud, OnDemand, will also help Crawford Co. gain real-time situational awareness, monitor security round performance, and access activity streams and reporting tools from anywhere, while working with their JMS.
