MAPLE GROVE, Minn., April 1, 2019 —GUARDIAN RFID, the global leader in inmate management and tracking systems, today announced that Grand Forks County Correctional Center in Grand Forks, North Dakota—has selected GUARDIAN RFID for its county prison to manage, monitor, and track its inmate population.

Grand Forks County Correctional Center has an average daily population of over 120 inmates and has struggled with its cumbersome workflow and reporting methods. The facility nurses, for example, would fax scripts to a local pharmacy to be refilled and have the pharmacy fax med orders back to the facility. Nurses and officers would track all their med administration by paper and then scan the files into Police Central on the inmate’s profile. This extremely manual approach to logging information wasted time and money as well as lacked internal staff collaboration and operational awareness. Grand Forks Co. realized the need for a platform that unifies the execution of their inmate management objectives, using RFID, the Cloud, and mobile to automate actionable security-critical workflows. Grand Forks Co. staff will deploy GUARDIAN RFID to capture a wide range of inmate activities and records including their medical history and med administration, behavioral observations, inmate movements, programs attendance, and court transports.
