SPARTAN, our ultra-rugged Android handheld scanner, features a high-resolution 13MP camera that captures HD files and syncs to the Cloud. Images are stored in JPEG format with a time/date watermark. Video files are also uploaded in HD and stored in the Cloud.
Yes, SPARTAN supports alerts, reminders, and notifications. You can set timers and alarms with 2 taps on SPARTAN. Our newest GUARDIAN RFID OnDemand release will feature alerts that automatically adjust to your cell check schedule and med pass schedule.
SPARTAN auto-synchronizes data via Wi-Fi. If connectivity is lost then your data will remain on SPARTAN until it comes returns within range of Wi-Fi.
No, SPARTAN does not presently have duress capabilities. That being said, SPARTAN wields all the features of latest Android OS. So if you have an app in mind then our developers would be happy to discuss opening our platform to third party apps.
SPARTAN dimensions are: 6.4” x 3” x .8” (11.6 oz). With an bright touchscreen and Android OS, using SPARTAN is as intuitive and easy as using a standard smartphone (dimensions most similar to iPhone 6 Plus).
The number of SPARTANS you deploy depends on bed count and housing layout. Facilities with indirect supervision and around 100 beds (linear layout) might need up to 10 SPARTANS, while 100-bed, direct supervision facilities (podular layout) might only need 3 SPARTANS. Device count also depends on inmate management strategy. Work release facilities may deploy 1 SPARTAN per road crew, and facilities with frequent transport movements might deploy 1 SPARTAN per transport vehicle.
SPARTAN comes with 1 spare battery and a standard 3-year warranty. We give our facilities premium accident protection coverage.
SPARTAN runs exclusively on Android. Over a decade of experience has taught us the science of providing rugged mobile devices to jails. iOS has yet to present a worthy device to the corrections market. With flimsy charging cables, clunky drop-proof cases, and inflexible software updates, iOS has proven to be a less than desirable option for jail operations.
SPARTAN comes with a rugged drop cradle. Years of experience has taught us that charging cables is not suitable for corrections. Your officers can drop SPARTAN as hard as they want. SPARTAN also comes with a spare battery that your officers can swap out as frequently as they want.
The average direct supervision pod might use SPARTANS 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. With daily tasks such as cell checks, supply passes, and headcounts your SPARTAN will hold a charge for up to 8 hours before needing to be dropped in its charging cradle. All SPARTANS also come with 1 spare battery.
SPARTAN comes with enterprise-level lockdown software, preventing your line staff from the dangers of open-network smartphone capabilities. This lockdown software only permits officers to turn on or off Wi-Fi, turn on or off flashlight, and to access their Mobile Command app.
You do not need a screen protector. The screen is made of Corning® Gorilla® Glass. We dare you find a way to scratch this screen.
