Sebastian Co. Sheriff’s Office to Deploy RFID Inmate Tracking System
The county jail in Fort Smith is deploying GUARDIAN RFID technology to strengthen its inmate management, monitoring, and tracking capabilities.
Maple Grove, Minn. and Fort Smith, Ark. — Feb. 18, 2015 — GUARDIAN RFID today announces that the Sebastian Co. Sheriff’s Office has chosen the GUARDIAN RFID Corrections System for its 356-bed facility.
Sebastian Co. Jail, which processes nearly 15,000 inmates annually, is deploying GUARDIAN RFID Sensors, software, mobile devices, and Clincher X-Wide RFID Wristbands to automate a wide range of correctional workflows and reporting requirements in real-time, including security rounds, inmate movements, headcounts, programs and activity logging, and more.
The deployment, led by Jail Administrator John Devane, and Sheriff Bill Hollenbeck, will greatly increase staff efficiency, compliance with state jail standards, and create a safer, more secure, environment for staff and inmates.
Sebastian Co. is deploying Cisco Aironet Wi-Fi access points to help staff sync and share captured data instantly, resulting in real-time operational awareness for all employees — from line to command staff — using GUARDIAN RFID’s Cloud-based platform, GUARDIAN RFID OnDemand.
GUARDIAN RFID is also interfacing with Sebastian Co.’s Jail Management System from New World Systems, a public safety software company based in Troy, MI. Booking data and inmate housing assignments will be automatically shared from the Windows-based Aegis Corrections Management software to GUARDIAN RFID.
“We’ve seen firsthand how GUARDIAN RFID is helping jails throughout our state build better staff accountability and mitigate risk,” said John Devane. “GUARDIAN RFID will help us to centralize a great deal of our staff’s day-to-day inmate management responsibilities in a single, integrated platform that works with our enterprise software from New World Systems,” said Sheriff Hollenbeck.
